Ganbare!! Robocon, a Japanese tokusatsu comedy series featuring a family robot, was created by Shotaro Ishinomori and produced by Toei. The show aired in Japan from 1974 to 1977.

In the first Robocon movie, there was a robotic ballerina that caught the eye of Robocon. Initially appearing in a dream sequence, she became a regular character on the show due to her popularity with the audience. Robin-chan played a significant part in the movie "Robocon Daibouken" where she was taken by space thieves, led by the elderly sorcerer Akuma, who desired her as his wife.
